Welcome to North City Children’s Centre

Early learning and childcare gives children a great start in life.

Your child can:

Make new friends, learn through play, try new activities and get off to a good start to their education.  This will make starting school much easier!

It is never too early to think about childcare.  There is a shortage of places in this area so even if you do not need to access childcare now it is a good idea to look around childminders, pre-schools and nurseries early and add your child’s name to their waiting lists.  You could use childcare to give your child the best start to their early years education, or so you may return to work or study.

Did you know that some 2 year olds and all 3 and 4 year olds, are entitled to 15 hours per week of free Early Years Education (for 2 year olds the term after their 2nd birthday and for 3 year olds the term after their 3rd birthday) at an Ofsted approved childcare provider?

If you are a single parent working 16 hours or more per week of if you are parents living together and both working 16 or more per week you may be entitled to 30 hours of free childcare per week. You could use this time to return to work, study or train. You can use your entitlement across 2 different settings if necessary.

You can see if you are eligible at www.gov.uk and click on Childcare Choices.

Please see our activity programme for a full list of providers in this area.
